About the Community Benefits Club (CBC)

The CBC Program is about making the Community we live in a vibrant and thriving one, and helping individuals feel good about the part they are playing in that process.

In a nutshell, Maleny IGA donates one cent in every dollar you spend back to your local Charity of choice.

It's easy to sign on at any Cashier or Download a Form. See CBC Forms for Downloading at the bottom of this page and choose your Community Group. Then when you shop simply give the Cashier your Keytag to scan, or quote your Customer Number when making purchases.
We donate 1 cent in every dollar you spend back to your local Charities and Groups!

Q: What is the CBC?
A: The Maleny Supa IGA Community Benefit Club allows local community groups to raise funds through a partnering process with their local store.

Q: What does CBC stand for?
A: Community Benefit Club

Q: How much goes back into the nominated Community Group?
A: 1 Cent in every Dollar a customer spends except on smoking products

Q: How does a customer join the CBC?
A: See a Supervisor at the Front End of Maleny Supa IGA

Q: What benefits does the customer get by being a member of the CBC?
A: They help raise money for their nominated group or for community needs

Q: What can I do if I am not a member of a Community Group?
A: There is a generic Community Needs Fund which will be used at our discretion to help local individuals, families or groups who need support

Q: Does it cost anything to be a member of the CBC?
A: No, it costs absolutely nothing

Q: Do you have to provide all of your details on the Customer Application?
A: No, you do not. Only the ones marked with an asterisk are mandatory

Q: Do you have to have your keytag with you to support your Group?
A: No, you can simply quote your Customer Number

Q: Are any products excluded from the CBC promotion?
A: Yes, all smoking products. No points are accumulated for these

Q: Can I support more than 1 Community Group?
A: Yes, simply submit another Customer Application Form and you will receive another keytag

Q: Will I be able to change groups?
A: Yes, simply submit another Customer Application Form to change details, 
the points that you have accrued during the month in which you change will be awarded to yourNEW group

Q: How much money is potentially available to be donated back into the community?
A: In the first 4 years of CBC at Maleny Supa IGA, the community has raised over $400,000 for local groups and organisations

Q: How will groups know how much money has been raised for their group?
A: By checking this website or by completing a redemption request form available instore or online.
 

Q: How does a Community Group redeem the money it has raised?
A: By submitting a Funds Redemption Form obtainable from the store
or downloading it from this website

Q: How long will it take to receive monies raised?
A: Allow 2 weeks for processing

Q: How does a Community Group know how much cash can be redeemed?
A: Email admin.maleny@outridgesiga.com.au or use our contact details on our website. You can also contact the Store Manager on 5494 2257.

Q: Is there a minimum amount of money which can be redeemed?
A: Cheques will not be generated for amounts less than $100

Q: How often can a Community Group redeem funds?
A: As often as you wish assuming funds are available

Q: Can Community Groups use the IGA and CBC logos?
A: Yes, they are available to download from this website

Q: Are there promotional materials available for Community Group use?
A: Yes, we have banners and a marquee to promote the IGA brand

Everything you need to know to raise money for your group.

How to Register your Group

  • Apply Here: you can register your group online on this page, see form right.
  • You can also Download a New Group Application Form or obtain one from the Maleny Supa IGA Store
  • Complete the Form with Group Details and hand in at the store kiosk.
  • We also request that you complete a CBC Group Redemption Authority Form which specifies who is to have authority to redeem funds for your group. This is to ensure there is no unauthorised access to the funds which have been pledged to your group via CBC.
  • Keep us updated with changes to Committee members/officers and their contact details - we require each CBC Group to re-register their Group every 12 months. You can do this Online on this page, see form right.
  • We can feature your group on our website, and help promote your group to potential new members. Simply provide us with a short description (and your own website address if you have one) and we will promote your group online.

Encourage your Members

Obviously the more people nominating points to your group, the more funds you will raise...

  • Use team sign-up days, monthly meetings and group newsletters to spread the word
  • A Logo, Copy & Testimonials are available for your promotional use - Click Here for Available Downloads
  • Enjoy use of our Marquee and Banners for marketing to your Group
  • Download the Customer Application Form - then hand these out to your members to encourage them to join
  • Regular customers may choose to benefit your group even if they are not members
  • There will be opportunities to promote your group in our newsletters, on our customer facing displays and on our website
  • There will be special days where groups will receive double points
  • Various Groups will be periodically featured on our Website

How do we Redeem our Funds?

  • A community group can redeem funds as needed providing funds are available.
  • Log-in to the website with your CBC Group Login to find out how much money is available for redemption (If you have forgotten your Login details, please contact the Store Manager on 5494 2257)
  • Download a Funds Redemption Form or obtain one from the store
  • Complete the form and hand in at the store kiosk
  • Allow 2 weeks for processing
  • Cheques will be written only for monies over $100
  • Maleny Supa IGA reserve the right to take advantage of photo opportunities and may ask for testimonials regarding how your Community Group has used the CBC donation

Which Groups are most Successful?

  • The top 20 groups have raised two thirds of all monies raised
  • This is due to the fact that they have many people nominating them
  • Clubs with 300-400 members have raised approximately $10,000 in 18 months

Products which are Exempt

Due to current State legislation, all smoking products such as cigarettes, tobacco, papers and filters cannot be included in the accumulation of points.
 

Please feel free to use the CBC logo in your newsletters, websites or other promotional materials to encourage people to contribute to your group. 

Terms & Conditions of Use

IGA is a National Brand and as such, by downloading these graphics, you agree to the Terms & Conditions of use as follows:

  • Please do not change the colours of the logos in any way. Black & White printing can be used on condition that the Logos are converted to black and white without any modification.
  • The logos should never overlap text or other pictures on the page, and should not be overlapped by other text or images
  • The logos should not be stretched, rotated, distorted or cut or separated in any way
